You’d think I’d know better. Especially as the one who wrote the article “Scam: Compliance Annual Minutes Board” a few years ago. But this one also looked official and I thought I remember something when setting up my business about filing a “Statement of Information” so I was about to file when I saw they wanted $235. They were sure into the scare tactics as well, “Remit Immediately” and ” . . . Fines and Suspension” and ” . . . losing your Corporate Existence” etc. A quick Google search got me to US Tax Aid Services and they warn “Don’t be fooled!” See below for the letter and envelope. I had to laugh at whom you’re supposed to make the check out to: BFD !
Note: they do say, at the bottom of the first page, “This product or service has not been approved or endorsed by any government agency, and this offer is not being made by an agency of the government.” Which they probably only do for when they get dragged into court they can say, “But we said at the bottom that it wasn’t official!” Waah waah.
