If you get the “Your message to everyone awaits moderator approval” message, here’s what to do.
Our email@example.com (I’m not putting it in here as I want to avoid more spam, you know the email address!) is a closed group distribution list. That means that only the people on the list can submit an email to it. So if your “firstname.lastname@example.org” sends an email to the group, it will come through just fine.
But if you send an email as “email@example.com” the system doesn’t recognize it and you’re as good as a spammer. Yes, a notification goes out to the administrator (that would be me), but the list now gets SO MUCH SPAM that I turned off notifications so I won’t see your email from “firstname.lastname@example.org” and it’ll sit there until I go through the long list (which is not very often).
So, what to do?
- Use your regular, registered email address to send an email to the group.
- Use your other email, but ask me in an email to allow that address.
Sound like a plan? Thanks for your cooperation!
